  1. That seems like an awful lot of work…is it worth it? I don’t use any form of CBD, but I do assume that even bought legally, it’s probably expensive, so taking the time to make your own, might be worthwhile. You gave great detail here and I had to smile about the bonus recipe at the end! Well done!

  2. Mathew & Deloris,

I didn’t know that you could make CBD at home. I always thought there was some expensive equipment way to get the CBD from the flower. Not sure why I thought this, just seemed elusive to make at home.
I have to admit, I’ve been buying CBD products for years. I don’t know if I would still want to make it though. Seems like my house would smell for quite some time after baking it.
Do you think it’s more cost effective over the long run to make it yourself, or buy larger quantities from say, Amazon?
Also, isn’t THC dominate flower just another saying for Marijuana or no? I don’t know the much of the difference I’m afraid.

    Thanks!

    • Katrina,
We thank you for stopping by and sharing, and to clarify some things up for you, everyone is different we grow it so that we won’t have to buy it and we know it’s the real thing and we do have reputable companies that we go through as well. But there is a difference and can be cheap grows the product gets good from the drying of the plant and the way you cure it depends on the smell and taste. If this is what your after like we are then we are looking for them potent terpenes that reside on all plants.
THC and CBD are just compounds within the marijuana plant but if you do buy flowers then you will notice on the side the percentage of CBD that’s inside the flower. THC dominant – means that there is more THC than there is CBD in the package that you hold in your hand, it would be weighing heavier on the CBD side or THC side of the plant you must look.
Thanks for stopping in and sharing well we bake in our house and turn our sense pot on and it doesn’t smell, only when you decarboxulation the CBD or THC. Nothing to be scared of, we are here to explain, and share facts, that lots don’t understand about CBD or THC, just that they know it gets you HIGH, that’s not the case either if you get a THC, dominate strain then yes.

We hope that you experiment with this or show someone that would like to just experiment with it.
check your state if you have THC or CBD, if you tell us what state you are in then we can tell you as well.

      Cheers,

I still haven’t tried CBD oil and I would rather go with vaping first or gummies just to see how it feels. In any case, this post was very interesting. Thanks again for sharing!

  4. Great post! CBD is an absolute staple in my life (as is medical marijuana). I’ve often heard horror stories of folks blowing things up when making oil, but that’s mainly BHO I think. I really appreciate all the different, and seemingly much safer, ways you’ve outlined here to make CBD oil. I will, 100%, without a doubt, be trying some of the methods you’ve outlined here soon. Thanks again!

    • Yes, this can be bad if you don’t use it right and not ventilate or don’t ever smoke around it we are just putting it in the oven and combine it with unsalted butter.

We don’t recommend doing that without knowing or reading up on it.

We do hope that you try and make some of those cookies they are yummy.

      Cheers,

  6. Wow! I have been buying homemade CBD oil for a while. A local store sells it (and they’re expensive …). So, learning how to do this at home is a great help! I’m just not sure where to get the cannabis for this or the flowers …
It’s a bit of a process to get this done, but it looks like it’s worth trying out. I would especially like to make the CBD butter and the CBD chocolate cookies! 🙂

    • We are glad that you did enjoy the article and the bonus video of the cookies and that you do buy CBD at the store and will make homemade butter and chocolate cookies. The best part is that you can grow this as you wish if you are in a state that allows you to have this and does not partake in this.

What state do you live in?
You can also look this up for yourself, we are going to make an article about this and will show others the states that are legal for CBD and THC, This will be great for others to know and we can just refer them to the page.

You can grow this and make your own it can seem like a process to do but once done you will look back and think I’m glad that I have done this.

We thank you again for stopping in and sharing your thoughts with us.

  7. Hi Mathew and Deloris,

I was unaware that we could make our own CBD oil at home. My brother will certainly benefit from this because he has become a huge fan of CBD oil since I shared your articles with him.

He is not a huge blog reader so I will have to share this article with him, and I am sure he will be over the moon to learn how to make his own CBD oil. It will probably help him save money too.

Thank you for sharing and keep up the great work.

    All the best,
