Then you stick it on a cookie sheet with parchment paper and heat the oven to 250 degrees and approximately 30-45 minutes.
To fully release the cannabinoids inside the CBD so that they can be bioavailable.

We are going to double boil the olive oil with CBD, or THC material, so that you don’t ruin any product and will be easy to make and strain with no hesitation on you ruining your oils, buy cooking it in a regular pan.

How do you make CBD oil?
- Virgin olive oil, Coconut oil, sesame-seed-oil, Vegetable oil, Almond oil, unsalted butter.
Olive Oil Method,
- 1-half ounce or pound to is a good ratio between oils of CBD or THC
- 2 cups of virgin Olive oil
- 1-pan
- 1-metal bowl
- 1-cheese cloth
- 1-extra bottle to put end product in
- Heat the stove to high
- Double-Boil for 2 hours
You will need cold-pressed virgin olive oil or the one you want to use.
Then you will need a pan to boil water in and another metal, or tin pan, so that we can double boil the ingredients.
Finally getting to learn how to make CBD oil, can be creative and inspiring.
For those who don’t know what double boil means, it means to cook with one pan and a tin or metal bowl in the same pan.
With one boiling water but not touching and the metal, the bowl can be filled with CBD and olive oils, it’s a steamer, but without the wholes.
Do not put on direct water to boil the product, so put enough or the water will dissipate before it’s done cooking allow the steam to boil the CBD oil only.
Making your own olive oil to dip or for dressing
Then, you put the olive oil in the metal pan along with the ground-up CBD flower, or THC weed, you mix this and let them cook together in the double boiler.
Remember that the cannabis you use will reflect the strength and potency of the oil and you can either do one of two options alcohol-based or oil-based.

- For oil-based products, such as olive oil or coconut oil, or unsalted butter, you will need to bind them together for the olive oil you will need 2 cups of virgin olive oil.
- One-pound of cannabis will be a good ratio for the olive oil to bind.
- Coconut oil unrefined you will need a half-pound of coconut oil and a pound of cannabis, for all these methods you will need to decarboxylate the cannabis.
- The coconut oil, you need to double boil this as well if you expect the same results so you don’t burn the end product from the burner.
Another method on, how to make CBD oil,
Coconut Oil Method–
- 2 cups of unrefined Coconut oil
- One pound of cannabis/however potent you want it could be a 1/8 of CBD
- 1 metal bowl to put the product in
- 1 pan to put water to boil
- Cheesecloth to strain
- Turn on heat medium-high for 2 hours
- heat-safe bowl or glass to put end-product
Put the coconut oil in there first so you can melt it down and for about 10 minutes and then add the decarbed cannabis and let boil for about 2 hours.
Making sure the water at the bottom of the other pan doesn’t burn.
Once two hours is up and then you may strain it with the cheesecloth into another safe bowl, or the container, you desire to put it in.
let this sit for an hour or two in the strained bowl, to get back to its original form of either coconut oil or unsalted butter, olive oil stays the same butter you can put in the refrigerator for later.
Unsalted butter with CBD
Unsalted butter Method, going to use the double boiling method to get the best results.
First, we will need,
- A pound, or half-pound, or your choice can be as much as you want, of cannabis and with your choice of strain will depend on potency.
- 4 sticks = 2 cups of unsalted butter for a full pound of cannabis/
- 2 sticks = 1 cup
- Cook on medium-high, for about 2-hours, with occasional stirring
- don’t let the water run out of the other pan.
- 1 cheesecloth
- Another container to put an end product and refrigerate it.

Put the pan on medium-high heat to get the water to boil first then, put the melted butter in to make sure that you have an exact match.
The material will bind with the fats within the unsalted butter.

For this experiment, we are going to be using two sticks of unsalted butter you can use more remember the ratio of butter to cannabis every cup would be a half-ounce of cannabis.

The strain will be the Harlequin dominant and will see how well our cookies are going to turn out with this strain.

We have 14g of CBD flower, now the butter is melting, and getting ready for the raw material to bind with CBD oils allows this to cook up to 2 hours.
Will return with the final product ready to strain through the cheesecloth and render all the fats that are bonded with CBD oils.
Set in refrigerator for a couple of hours allow this to settle down and bond back together, once bonded back take out the unsalted butter now we are ready for the cookies you ready.

How to make CBD oil?
- 14 tablespoons unsalted butter/ butter softened = 1 cup of butter / 8 tablespoons per stick the butter you just made
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 cups all-purpose flour + (a few extra tablespoons)
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt or sea salt
- 4 cups of chocolate chips (we love extra) you can use your own variation of chocolate chips.
Keep Reading:
Preheat oven to 350, and line a few trays with parchment paper, or use the pan to spray your cookie sheets, or use aluminum foil.
In a large bowl, place the butter inside the bowl and place it in preheated over. leave for a few minutes until the butter melts around the outside.
Once the CBD unsalted butter has cooled, add both sugars + beat w/mixer until light and fluffy.
Add the vanilla extract + eggs, beating between each addition just until mixed.
Next, the flour, baking soda, + salt + beat on a low speed, just until combined if a little wet need extra flour.
If needed add 2 extra tablespoons one at a time to the dough + mix by hand.
Fold in chocolate chips until just incorporated.
Use 1/4 cup to scoop dough to cookie sheets + bake for 10-12 minutes. 8-9 for 1.5 tablespoons.
One tray at a time.
Makes 1 dozen large or 2 dozen small cookies…

I didn’t know that you could make CBD at home. I always thought there was some expensive equipment way to get the CBD from the flower. Not sure why I thought this, just seemed elusive to make at home.
I have to admit, I’ve been buying CBD products for years. I don’t know if I would still want to make it though. Seems like my house would smell for quite some time after baking it.
Do you think it’s more cost effective over the long run to make it yourself, or buy larger quantities from say, Amazon?
Also, isn’t THC dominate flower just another saying for Marijuana or no? I don’t know the much of the difference I’m afraid.

But there is a difference and can be cheap grows the product gets good from the drying of the plant and the way you cure it depends on the smell and taste. If this is what your after like we are then we are looking for them potent terpenes that reside on all plants.
THC and CBD are just compounds within the marijuana plant but if you do buy flowers then you will notice on the side the percentage of CBD that’s inside the flower. THC dominant – means that there is more THC than there is CBD in the package that you hold in your hand, it would be weighing heavier on the CBD side or THC side of the plant you must look.
Thanks for stopping in and sharing well we bake in our house and turn our sense pot on and it doesn’t smell, only when you decarboxulation the CBD or THC. Nothing to be scared of, we are here to explain, and share facts, that lots don’t understand about CBD or THC, just that they know it gets you HIGH, that’s not the case either if you get a THC, dominate strain then yes.

Yes, this can be bad if you don’t use it right and not ventilate or don’t ever smoke around it we are just putting it in the oven and combine it with unsalted butter.
We don’t recommend doing that without knowing or reading up on it.

Wow! I have been buying homemade CBD oil for a while. A local store sells it (and they’re expensive …). So, learning how to do this at home is a great help! I’m just not sure where to get the cannabis for this or the flowers …
It’s a bit of a process to get this done, but it looks like it’s worth trying out. I would especially like to make the CBD butter and the CBD chocolate cookies! 🙂

I would probably use EV Olive Oil. Very funny about what cooking oils I use I hate rapeseed and sunflower oil for example but how much olive oil.
