Does CBD Cartridges Go Bad- Part 2

DOES CBD CARTRIDGES GO BAD

Know that your CBD or THC does not last forever, and we know that if you store them properly, you can maximize your life span on your vape cartridge. We do know that nothing lasts forever. It either, molds or degrades with time. And if you think that air-sealed tight lids are just going to be the answer, this is not the case; in fact, it’s like a car it depreciates as soon as you drive it off the lot. As soon as you take CBD or THC out of the package, or store, you got a time frame to work with. It’s up to you to preserve this, so to answer your question, do CBD cartridges go bad, YES in time, and sun.

Dive in and learn more.

Understanding The CBD Vape Cartridge?

A vape cartridge is a glass container that holds one gram to a half-gram of cannabis oil THC or CBD. They either come pre-filled, or you can fill them yourself with whatever your taste you prefer, with you must charge this device like anything else, such as your phone.does cbd cartridge go bad

These cartridges contain Cannabis oil called- cannabinoids and terpenes that increase flavor production when you inhale and exhale. The plate at the bottom of the battery heats the cartridge.

The Battery!

It has a 510 thread most common to Pax-era-pods to hold the lithium-ion battery that it should come with if new. Unless you have been using one already, you will need to keep it charged for maximum use. A vape cartridge can last anywhere from one week to a month, depending on fast you vape and the quality of the CBD juice.

The Coil?

Inside the cartridge is the coil, which contains cotton that lights the wick to burn the CBD vape juice. You do not see this, but it is inside, and you must not burn this either.

When you purchase these vape pens, they are more than likely to buy them full already, such as this on to the right.

If no then you will need to fill it then. If you want to know more about this, check out our other article on what vaping is about.

This article was just a little introduction to introduce you to the vape cartridge. Whether your new or have been to this website, it is food for thought. Let us dive deeper, shall we?

When Will My CBD Cartridge Expire?

What are some of the questions that you may be asking if you own a CBD vape pen, how long do I got till my vape juice is bad?

Many factors can lead you to believe it will expire, such as the quality of the CBD or THC or how you stored the bottle or cartridge. Generally, it will be from a couple of months to two years from when the cartridge was first made until the time you stored it; this is the time frame you are working with.

Does CBD cartridge oil go bad

It would be best if you thought, everything goes bad or degrades with time in the first three to six months of the cartridge is the most crucial I think, use it because you are trying to preserve the cartridge as long as possible. If you are a company that is trying to sell, and if you are just an everyday vaper like we are, you want to use it while we preserve it.

The Time We Have?

Typically, the range that you get with CBD is roughly about a year to two years max.

When you extract CBD compounds from the plant and turn it into oil, you increase your chances of preserving it because of all the additives to make it vape juice. If you want to learn how to make CBD vape juice yourself, visit what additives are in vape juice and vape juice.

When you burn it at high temperatures and for long periods of time, when you are taking a draw off your vape pen, your CBD or THC burns up and leaves it more degraded, best to use the full cartridge before being done. If not, be sure to put your lid back on such next time your vape cartridge is like you left it.

When your vaping, try not to hold down the button so long. When vaping can save your battery for one and two, your vape will not be as dark brown.

How Can I Store My CBD Cartridge?

If you really want to preserve the life of your CBD vape cartridge and want to get the maximum use out of your vape pen, then you need to keep reading. We want to give you tips and tricks that will help you avoid letting your CBD vape cartridge or juice go bad. Keep it out of the direct sunlight first of all.

The biggest thing that will degrade your CBD is light and heat; heat will break CBD cannabinoids down it turns into CBN, the ideal temperature would be 70℉.

Important!

It can degrade like the flower quality if it is exposed to direct sunlight or any light for that matter, and with CBD or THC, it will go not good and turn different colors. Make sure that you keep it upright, sealed tight, and out of the sunlight.

If you travel like us and are always moving, please put your vape pen away whenever you go into a store or anything. Very important to keep that in mind in the summer days, the sun can damage it more than you think.

We want our vape juice the best possible, so we are sharing the ways we do it. Please put it in the console real quick. You will know it’s in there.

How To Tell If My CBD vape juice Is Bad.

If your vape juice cartridge is looking a little chunky, then you know it isn’t good, and you will not want to inhale or ingest this at all. It can make you sick will not kill you. CBD has an earthy smell to it, and clean if it is any bad or rotten, it will smell like rotten or skunky like and way darker than usual it means that it is degrading.Does CBD cartridges go bad

By having it stored in all the right places within the right containers, you should be able to preserve this a little longer than most if it looked darker like maroon or darker brown.

Your Vape Cartridge!

If it is thicker than usual, you will want o get rid of it, some may store it in the Refridgerator, and it looks cloudy at times. If you let this set in a couple of minutes, it should get its color back. If not, toss it.

Sometimes you have to take a loss of it, but we are trying to prevent that with this article hope that we cover all the basics that vapor can cover on how to tell if it’s bad.

Well, of course you can taste it, but if you have no signs of the things above, the last thing to do is taste it. If it tastes rancid, or sour, then your vape cartridge will be history. The cannabinoids have broken down and are no longer good, and do not possess the compounds you want out of a CBD vape cartridge.

Getting The Best Out Of Your CBD Vape Cartridge.

To get the best out of your CBD vape Cartridge, you can do many different things to preserve the life of your vape pen first would be to keep it out of the direct sunlight.

When you first purchase a CBD vape pen, you will want to keep it in a cool place for those who work and keep it in your pocket all day. It can break your CBD down.

CBD turns to CBN, no matter what if it’s CBD or THC, even edibles unless it has not been touch or been in the light for that long.

Edibles?

Your edibles can even be at risk if you have them in too much heat or the sun.

The heat and sun are the two main sources that can degrade your CBD; the other is time. Only time will tell how long your CBD will last.

If you take your vape pen everywhere with you, then when you leave your car, put it up, or take it with you, it’s going to degrade no matter what.

If you leave it in your car, then keep it in a cool place if you don’t want to take it with you.

Last Words.

We are not trying to scare you with all of this we want to help you preserve your CBD vape cartridge as much as possible; if you care about how long your vape pen lasts, then follow these, and you shall have your vape cartridge for longer than you think.

If you happen to vape faster than you can hold on to it, that is fine. You are not wasting it at all. We believe you are using it what it’s intended to do to help medical benefits. Like us, we use CBD and THC ratios 1:1 ratio. It works wonders to see how CBD change our life and helped us overcome pain.

If you happened not to see a method to help preserve your CBD vape cartridge pen, please do not hesitate to let us know how you save your CBD vape Cartridge.

We encourage comments and happy vaping.

  1. This is a great article, I had one CBD Vape Cartridge, and like you said I think it’s bad cause it’s a little chunky. I left it on a table in my living room where it gets a lot of sun. I think that the heat of the sun was not very good for it.

  2. Hey guys, thanks for sharing this post. I’m a complete newbie when it comes to CBD vaping and CBD cartridges. I didn’t know they could go bad in a year or two. Somehow, I thought these products are created to last longer. After reading your post here, I’ve got an idea of why and how CBD cartridges go bad. Also, I wanted to say thanks for including so much information such as how to tell if the cartridge is bad and how to store your CBD cartridges to preserve them longer. This is one useful post indeed! I’m sure others will think the same. Keep up the good work!

    1. Ivan,
Well, we would like to thank you for stopping in and sharing your thoughts with us and we just want to share our knowledge and resources to fully understand how and when your CBD vape juice is going bad. Most people use it faster than they can keep it “that’s us”, for the most part, CBD cartridges are going to have a time frame on when you can use it just like anything else.

  3. As an infrequent vaper, I hadn’t given a lot of thought to spoilage or cartridges going bad. Some good tips and suggestions though so thanks for sharing.

    Cheers – Jason.

    1. Jason,
Yes, we were the same way only because we used it faster than we could keep it so we didn’t have this issue, but some do hold on to their CBD vape pen and don’t vape as often as we do. So for the ones that do not vape often infrequent vapors then this is suitable for them and anyone that wants to gain more knowledge on CBD vape cartridges going bad thanks again for stopping in and sharing your thoughts with us.

  4. Mathew & Deloris,

I didn’t know that sun was bad for CBD, but now I do. I also didn’t know they could go bad, so I’ll have to pass this along to my friends that vape. I doubt they store them correctly, though in Alaska, I’m not sure how much they would cook under the sun up here. This is one of the summers where the sun has been in and out all summer, and there’s actually snow already on the mountains. Definitely not ready for winter yet!

But, it’s good information to know for sure. Ingesting, or inhaling anything that’s gone bad can have serious consequences, so better to be safe rather than sorry.

    Thanks for sharing this!

    Katrina

    1. Katrina,
We are glad that you shared your thoughts with us on how you did not know that the sun would damage your CBD or THC, in Alaska isn’t it 24-hour sun right now our son lives there and there is not nighttime for six months of the year. At night it looks like the sun is about the come up on the horizon and then it stays like that until 3 am and then comes back out fully Blasen. Thanks for stopping in again.

  7. I didn’t know that cbd cartridges could go bad. These tips are good to know and easy enough to follow. I have sometimes left my cbd oil in the sun, but only for a few seconds or perhaps a little under a minute. Does that also cause damage or is that still ok? Are there any vapes (brands) that have a longer shelf life or is it the same for all?

    1. Christine,
thank you for stopping in and sharing your thoughts with us and if you leave your CBD in the sun for a second then this would be fine, and for other brands, if they use other ingredients it could cut the life span in half. Most CBD is done the same way so it is generally the same shelf life. I hope that we answered your questions in full, and if not then we will be more than happy to get you the right answer.

      Cheers,
      Mathew&Deloris

  10. Thank you guys for this informative post on how to store the vape. I think many people just don’t realise that it really matters how we store it. (I am not sure if I did realise that -;) )However, your tips are here useful and should help many people using vape. Do you have a special place yourself where you keep it? I assume some dark drawer (not too hot) should be sufficient, right? Cheers

    1. Julius,
Hi there nice to see you here again, where you store your vape juice matters on how long it lasts and if you vape it fast you don’t have to worry except rotation. We keep our vape juice in the basement and in the pantry under a black towel so that way now light will not be hitting it. This is a good question lots of people store it in different places and it would be nice to hear where other people store vape juice ours is in the basement.
Where do you store your vape juice?

      Cheers,

  11. I always wondered what CBD cartridges were and how they’re used. To be honest I’ve never tried CBD oil, but I can certainly see the benefits from what I’ve read. It’s good to know the best way of storing them, as keeping the cartridges out of direct sunlight and heat can degrade them. Armed with this information buyers could certainly save money as well as disappointment!

    1. Kathy,
you are right to save them a disappointment if they read this article and understand that CBD or THC does go bad and does not stay good forever. Educating yourself with this will save money and time if you did not know, we use CBD and THC ratios and did not know that they went bad I actually thought that it did not go bad one would think but no, it does go bad.

      Cheers,
      Mathew&Deloris

  12. hi mate,

  13. Hey guys, this is great information for everyone wondering if their cbd cartridges go bad or not. Personally, I have always wondered the same thing ever since I got myself one too. But now I feel like I am better informed.

My cousin live in the desert and it gets extremely dry and hot there real fast. He often leaves his vape in the car sometimes and now after reading that sun exposure can degrade the cartridge, I am keen on sharing this useful information with him. Do you think it matters to put the vape pen in the fridge at all ?

    1. Sasha,
We think that CBD has good effects in the fridge, but it is not recommended if you are going to store for a long time put in a dark cool spot and if this is for less than an hour, yes I don’t see it why not.
thank you for stopping in and sharing your thoughts with us.

      Cheers,
